Sobradinho, Bahia. O encontro com a identidade perdida

Resumo

Sobradinho é uma cidade nova que nasceu juntamente com a construção da represa do mesmo nome, pela Hidrelétrica de São Francisco, em 1973, sendo emancipada em 1989. Está localizada ao norte do estado da Bahia e entrou no Programa Melhoria da Educação do Município em 2003, quando a equipe da Secretaria Municipal de Educação participou de um encontro em Juazeiro. A grande contribuição do Programa Melhoria foi a proposta de pensar ações educacionais a partir do foco de construir a identidade do município. O problema prioritário era o da repetência, e os olhares voltaram-se para esse combate, tomando o cuidado de implementar projetos que envolvessem toda a comunidade de forma articulada. O texto descreve as três iniciativas desenvolvidas: Projeto Capacitação em Horário de Estudo Pedagógico Coletivo; Projeto Dia da Caatinga; Projeto Leitura da Cidade. Conclui que Sobradinho criou um movimento que está estimulando em seus habitantes a noção de pertencimento, aprofundando laços e estabelecendo referências para uma identidade local, o que é de suma importância para qualquer comunidade.

Abstract

Sobradinho is a new city that was created when a dam of the same name was built by Hidrelétrica de São Francisco, in 1973; it became an incorporated municipality in 1989. It is located in the north of the state of Bahia and entered the Better Municipal Education Program (Programa Melhoria da Educação do Município) in 2003, when the team at the Municipal Secretariat of Education took part in a meeting in Juazeiro. The biggest contribution of Programa Melhoria was a proposal to develop educational actions based on the focus of building the municipality's identity. The highest priority problem was grade retention and attention was turned to fighting this, taking care to implement projects involving the entire community in an articulated manner. This text describes the three initiatives developed: the Training in Collective Educational Study Time Project; the Caatinga Day Project; and the City Reading Project. In conclusion, Sobradinho created a movement that is fostering a sense of belonging among its citizens, deepening ties and establishing references for a local identity, which is of the utmost importance for any community.
